In 1990, Architect Islam Khraim founded Built Image in Riyadh with a singular conviction: that the built environment deserved a model-making studio equal to its ambition. Starting from a modest workshop in the Saudi capital, he assembled a team of craftsmen who shared his obsession with precision and his reverence for architectural integrity.
What began as a regional practice grew, project by project, into one of the most respected scale-model studios in the world. Each commission was treated not merely as a contract, but as a collaboration — an opportunity to translate an architect’s vision into a tangible object that could captivate clients, inspire investors, and guide builders.
Today, Built Image operates from its Riyadh headquarters with over 250 dedicated craftsmen and technicians, employing CNC precision, laser fabrication, and 3D printing alongside time-honoured hand techniques — a testament to Architect Khraim’s founding belief that technology and craftsmanship are not in opposition, but in harmony.
Every detail is deliberate. Our craftsmen work to tolerances measured in fractions of a millimetre, ensuring that each model faithfully represents the architect’s design intent at any scale.
Models from our Riyadh studio have been delivered to clients across 60+ countries — from Gulf capitals to European cultural institutions, North American developers, and Asian infrastructure projects.
CNC machining, laser cutting, and industrial 3D printing are seamlessly woven into our production process, giving Built Image capabilities that consistently exceed client expectations on complexity and speed.
